A Trip to Marine Drive

Pleasure over fun

It was yet another hot, humid days of Mumbai. The evening surprised with a mild jet of early monsoon showers. The summer break, boredom of life these days and first monsoon shower of the season –what more is required to plan outing, miles away from campus ..so finally we made our mind to set all the way up to marine drive, for just a change from normal routine’s life in front of a 15inch flat screen.

It was about 9 pm, a long waiting of autoriksha did not killed out enthu , and finally we walked all our way to nearest railway station Kanjurg Marg. The rain made the road the roads slippery and that made the bikes slip ...and there was one .....and one more right in front of our eyes. The local trains, blessed with an efficient coordination and mechanism unlike anything else in Mumbai, made distance all the way up to CST an unmemorable experience.

Again we walked and walked, and finally the vibrant sea was ahead. We expected that a cool breeze of wind will coordinate with the water waves and relax us, but rather it was a calm night with no noise of air around
.
Finally we afraid that it will be too late if we don’t walk over steps back soon. At 11:30 or more we catched a local train and enjoyed a rush less journey of 40 minutes back to where we belong. (Of course our campus our home ...not just a home, much more now). And the very entry inside the campus, made us feel that we have again landed in heaven ....a place too fantastic ...away from noise ....away from pollution ....away from that sorrows and suffering from the millions outside. The air, so fresh, so sweet, unmatched with even the best of the marine drive. That’s all it was, almost 1 in night and my soul was more tired than my mind ..and as usual I slept with my lappe waiting to get itself shutdown till the morning sunshine ..Rather It was morning alarm.

Thanks
