Visit to Akshardham....

Its June end by now, the wind howled and great scudding clouds raced overhead ...its rare thing here in my hometown Udaipur (often called the Venice of east & the city of lakes), over the last few years rains had been very scarce in the city of lakes, newspaper headlines will title tomorrow by so much inches rain here and there. But rains are almost routinous in Mumbai and so the mumbaiya life....."Zara hans ke, zara bach ke, ye hai mumbai meri jaan"

Anyway rain created quite a fantastic atmosphere around, we (me with my parents and my sister) were all soon to depart for Ahmadabad, a city I had visited half a dozen times in last 1-2 years but only a max of 4-5 hrs every time. But this time it was planned for a complete day. Finally we reached our destination early morning, visited few relatives ....just from one corner of city to another. Ahmadabad unlike Mumbai is a well planned city, it’s beautiful too...and what adds more is the polite, helpful nature of Gujarati people. Gujarati’s, I believe are the most cooperative people in India. As there was the whole day ahead and climate was too pleasant, we switched our direction towards Akshardham Temple, name which needs no introduction. It’s one of most awesome place I have ever seen. Mandir, exhibitions, verdant gardens and other attractions ......and not to forget the restaurant inside are worth visiting. We were short of time so we had to rush through all that. Then we made our way to Hathee Singh temple, it’s too an architectural marvel that has been built using beautiful white marbles. It was evening by then, I was completely tired....but I had to depart for Mumbai in a few hours. And next day I opened my eyes in Mumbai.
